Action Research Project Progress Note
(As a requirement for EDLD 5326 Week 5)

Since my district underwent a major restructuring of campuses, I have to tweak my research project to reflect those changes.  My campus went from a seventh and eighth grade campus to only housing eighth graders.  This will not change the focus or intent of the project, but it will narrow the scope.  One of the first steps of my project was to administer a teacher survey to evaluate understanding and buy-in of the PBIS program as well as school climate at the Junior High campus.  The survey was developed, revised, and approved by my site supervisor, then administered to the teachers.  The survey will be repeated at the end of this school year, and the results of the two surveys will be compared.  Also, discipline data is currently being collected to be compared to data from last school year.  That data is being disaggregated to evaluate sub-groups.  Special attention will be given to Special Education students and the effect a fully implemented PBIS program will have on them in particular.  An ongoing task is reviewing literature and collaborating with campus administration to improve the implementation of the PBIS program. Currently, I am on target to complete this effort within the projected timelines.
